The Role:
As SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our school’s approach to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You’ll lead a dedicated team to ensure that all students, regardless of their needs, are provided with a high-quality education and the necessary support to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking school that values creativity, inclusivity, and the holistic development of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of high-quality provision for students with SEND across the school.
  • Ensure that all SEND students have personalized learning plans, tailored support, and clear pathways to success.
  • Collaborate with class teachers, teaching assistants, and external agencies to provide targeted interventions.
  • Oversee and monitor the progress of SEND students, ensuring timely and effective assessments and interventions.
  • Provide training and support for staff to ensure a whole-school approach to inclusion.
  • Act as a key point of contact for parents and external agencies regarding SEND provision and progress.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National SENCO Award (or willingness to complete the award).
  • Experience working with students with a range of SEND and a strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • A passion for inclusion and a commitment to ensuring every child has the support they need to succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Leadership experience or a desire to take on leadership responsibilities within a supportive team.
