£120 - £150 per day

 

About the HLTA role:

Magisters Education has a number of long-term and temporary bookings for HLTAs in West London. As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will support primary children with their learning and general well-being to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. Where necessary this may include positive behaviour management adopting a tailored approach to the individual child.

 

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, your areas of responsibility will include:

 

• Covering full classes across EYFS – KS2 in the absence of the teacher – teaching pre-planned lessons to the class
• Support and supervise pupils throughout the school day whilst promoting pupil's independence self-esteem and social inclusion

• Complementing the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short-term for whole classes.
• The management and development of teaching within the school and/or management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training.
• Under an agreed system of supervision, taking a lead role within the school to address the needs of children who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.
• Encouraging children to become independent learners, providing support for their welfare, and supporting the inclusion of children in all aspects of academy life.

 

About You:

- Experience as a primary school HLTA
- Experience covering full classes in the absence of a teacher
- Degree qualified desirable
- DBS on the Update Service
