Our Registration Process

We use state of the art technology to ensure registering with us is simple yet effective. Safeguarding our schools, pupils and colleagues is of the utmost importance. This means we will always carry out background checks and a thorough vetting process to ensure you meet the criteria.

Initially one of team will call you to get to know you better, understand what you are looking for and discuss how we can support you. The consultant will then go through some initial vetting questions before you start our simple recruitment process. This includes an online application form and completing a number of safeguarding vetting checks and police clearance, as you’ll be working with children.

Working with Magisters

Working with Magisters ensures you are representing a teaching and tuition agency with the highest of industry standards.

After completing preliminary online forms outlining the basis of your application, the team will work with you to complete the following checks:

Face-to-Face Interview: All candidates are required to register face-to-face with a trained recruitment consultant. We will verify the documentation you must produce to complete your registration in compliance with our safeguarding requirements.

References Check: A minimum of two professional referees (using the referees’ professional email addresses only) is essential.

Identification Confirmation: We are required to verify identity using a document that contains your photograph such as a valid passport, a biometric residence permit for the UK or a current UK driving licence.

Barred List Check: We check the Disclosure and Barring Service’s (DBS) lists against current and previous surnames.

Right to Work Confirmation: passport and visa will prove your right to work in the UK.

Date of Birth Check: We confirm date of birth using a candidate’s passport, driving licence or valid EU National Identity Card.

Change of Name Confirmation: We will verify any previous names against marriage certificates, civil partnership certificates, divorce papers or deed poll certificates.

Qualifications Check: Candidates qualifications must be confirmed with the issuing institution or NCTL, or via your UK NARIC certificate, if applicable.

Medical Fitness to Work Declaration: This declaration is to be completed by all candidates.

Proof of Address: We must confirm our candidates' address and ask they provide two proofs of address.

National College for Teaching and Leadership Verification: This is for all UK and overseas-trained teachers who have been awarded QTS in the UK and allows us to check their teaching status.

Overseas Police Check: All candidates from overseas, or who have recently worked overseas, must have a police check from the relevant country.
